A Woman from Middletown, NJ has been Charged with Murder in the Shooting Death of her Husband
A man called 911 and told police he killed his mother-in-law.
Authorities in Nutley, New Jersey, have charged a man with the murder of an elderly woman with whom he shared a home.
At 8:21 p.m. on Tuesday, Nutley police received a 911 call from a man who claimed he had just slain his mother-in-law. Barbara Ann Bezzone, 84, was found laying on the floor when officers arrived at her Prospect Street residence. According to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Nutley Police Department, she was "unresponsive" and had severe injuries.
At 8:45 p.m., Bezzone was pronounced deceased on the spot.
James Pica, 58, was arrested and charged with murder by Nutley police.
Pica lived with Bezzone, according to a prosecutor's office representative, who couldn't confirm who owned the house.
