After being mauled by a black bear while walking to check her mailbox near her house, a New Jersey woman was brought to the hospital with wounds to her right arm and buttock.

The 34-year-old lady was walking down Gorney Road in Lafayette Township at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when she was attacked, according to police.
The woman, who has not been recognized, observed two to three bears and was 'engaged in a physical confrontation with one of them,' according to officials.
