It’s Possible that the Northern Lights may be Visible in New Jersey this Halloween Weekend
Election Day in New Jersey
Tuesday night, cold air from the northwest will sweep into New Jersey, dropping temperatures to the low 30s in some locations and the mid-30s in others by early Wednesday morning.
In a forecast discussion on Monday, the National Weather Service's Mount Holly forecast office noted, "It will likely be our coldest night of the season." “A gentle west to northwest (wind) may aid in the prevention of widespread frost formation. Patchy frost is possible in sections of eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, though."
The meteorological service has issued its first freeze watch of the season for Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, and Warren counties, as well as western Passaic County, effective from midnight Wednesday until 9 a.m. Wednesday, in anticipation of the chilly air.
Temperatures in certain areas might drop as low as 30 degrees, killing unprotected crops and other delicate vegetation, according to the notice.
