Police Say a Man in New Jersey Strangled his Roommate to Death

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor's office, a Wayne Township man strangled his roommate to death roughly an hour after police had deescalated a quarrel at their home.

According to the prosecutor's office, Frank Rance, 38, of Hinchman Avenue, was apprehended without incident at the scene and charged with one count of first-degree murder.

According to the prosecutor's office, police were called to a residence at 10:33 p.m. on Friday for a reported domestic conflict. Police de-escalated the situation but were called back at 11:40 p.m. to find Frank Majuri, 60, unresponsive on the floor, according to authorities.

Majuri was pronounced dead on the spot.

According to the prosecutor's office, the police investigation found that the two were bickering when Rance began strangling Majuri.

The investigation is still in progress.
