The East Coast is bracing for a Nor’Easter
According to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one New Jersey resident has been ill in an eight-state Salmonella poisoning outbreak related to Citterio brand "premium Italian-style salame sticks."
According to the CDC, the sticks are largely sold at Trader Joe's grocery stores, who have voluntarily stopped selling them. The CDC is investigating whether any other items have been tainted.
In the case, twenty persons have been reported sick with Salmonella infection in eight states, with three of them being hospitalized. So yet, no one has perished. Sixteen of them were under the age of eighteen.
"It's likely that the true number of sick people is substantially greater... ... the outbreak may not be restricted to places where illnesses have been reported, "According to the CDC. "This is due to the fact that some people heal without medical attention and are never tested for Salmonella."
