Due to high tides, modest coastal flooding is expected along the coast and around the Delaware Bay on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the weather service.
Tonight might bring severe thunderstorms with strong winds capable of taking down trees and power lines. Winds are up to 45 mph are expected along the Jersey Shore.
If the storm advances closer to the coast, more rain and stronger winds may be carried inward, but the storm will have less impact if it stays further offshore.
Rain, heavy at times, is forecast to begin this evening and last for the majority, if not all, of Tuesday. Within the watch region, rain totals of 2 to 3.5 inches are predicted, with locally higher amounts possible.
With the strongest rain, flash flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, and regions with inadequate drainage is probable.
