A Huge Structure in New Jersey that Housed Multiple Businesses was Destroyed by Fire

US Auto Auction building on fire

Investigation Under Way

Officials are looking into the cause of a fire that damaged a huge structure in southern New Jersey that housed many businesses.

Tuesday night, a fire broke out and quickly spread across the US Auto Auction building.

As flames flew into the sky, little explosions could be heard from inside the building.

According to Fire Chief Joseph Palumbo, the fire was fanned by the quantity of vehicles inside the structure, as well as gasoline and tires.

In the morning, firefighters were still putting out fires, causing officials to block multiple highways in the region. Commuters heading to Philadelphia were impeded by the closures.
