After being mauled by a neighboring dog last Wednesday, a Cherry Hill, New Jersey man and his roommate's pet are healing.
Cheddar is the name of the wounded dog. The front right leg of the 4-month-old dog is fractured, and he has multiple puncture wounds all over his body. Cheddar shares a home with Nick Denny, his owner, and Brett Spaulding, his roommate. Both guys are members of the US Air Force. Spaulding was walking Cheddar when he was attacked.
Most of you know I just recently became a dog dad to a 4 month old puppy, Cheddar. Anyone who has been able to meet Cheddar knows how goofy, playful, and loving he is to anyone he comes in contact with (no matter the number of legs).
Tonight my roommate was taking the little guy for a walk around our neighborhood when the worst possible thing happened. They were attacked by an unleashed, unmuzzled dog that has a history of attacking other dogs in our neighborhood.
After my roommate tried to protect Cheddar he not only sustained injuries in the process, but Cheddar has been left with two broken legs with multiple lacerations and punctures. One of his legs is so badly broken that the possibility of amputation is very real.
