New Jersey Ground Beef Recall

The Food Safety and Inspection Service says the
products are from Lakeside Refrigerated Services in Swedesboro.

New Jersey-based Lakeside Refrigerated Services is recalling approximately 120,872 pounds of ground beef because of the risk of E. coli contamination.

The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall for more than 120,000 pounds of ground beef products due to concerns that they may be contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Escherichia coli (E. coli) can cause diarrhea, severe stomach cramps, vomiting, and other symptoms and is spread by consuming food or drink contaminated by human or animal waste or by contact with people or animals.

The recall involved roughly 120,872 pounds of raw ground beef product from Lakeside Refrigerated Services, a firm in Swedesboro, New Jersey, according to a notification released Monday by the Food Safety and Inspection Service. Thomas Farms, Nature's Reserve, and Marketside Butcher were among the companies that sold the meat.
