Red Bank Pharmacy offers life-saving medications for Free
The First Chartable Drugstore in New Jersey is set to operate in Monmouth County.
Ritesh Shah, who owns many pharmacies, is in charge of the Red Bank location. He's noticed how the price of several prescriptions has risen.
Shah told CBS2's Meg Baker, "Our health-care model, you know, I'll say this gently — we live in a dysfunctional system."
He wants to be a part of the answer for individuals who can't afford to get the treatment they require.
Most of the patients will come from local clinics, where they are pre-approved to receive the free medication. Others can apply online or at a pharmacy.
The Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy plans to open the second week of April.
